Entering a new year very often brings with it the need or desire to evaluate, improve or change things in life, work, and otherwise. This change of year has certainly been no exception, and to commemorate all of the things that have been unraveling during the past month, I have also taken the liberty of upgrading my personal web presence here in terms of the technology platform, layout and design, and most notably, with a new tagline: "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another". Here's why:

Since last year (2015) and the beginning of this one (2016), we at Job and Esther Technologies have been steadily increasing our emphasis on Emerge, our training arm. It appears that recently, more than ever before, there is really increasing demand and need for technical trainings, most especially programming or "coding" trainings. As I have written before, this is really in stark contrast to how things were just a few short years ago.

This is good. Very very good. More trainings means more expertise. More personal development for more people. Better jobs. More salary for more people. Improved lives. Ultimately, happier families. Or so I would hope.

Working in the field of education (and that is really what technical trainings are) is beautiful, because it is all about helping others grow. When done with the right perspective, it's about loving one another and serving one another. It's about sharing the things that one has previously learned. And the process of transferring the learnings from one person to another does not take anything away from the teacher, quite the opposite: While teaching, the teacher actually learns MORE, and gets to improve him/herself as well in the process! Knowledge is multiplied. It's just great.

Education is also beautiful, because it's biblical. Peter wrote in his first letter, and I quote:

"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace ... in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ."

That is why that is also my new tagline for the year: "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another". As for me personally, and my other co-trainors in Emerge, we have been gifted with a good amount of skills and knowledge in software technology in particular, and I am glad that we are also being given opportunities to serve others by sharing those things to them.

Obviously that is not the only gift we have received, and every one of us has correspondingly been blessed with a different set of gifts, talents and abilities. With this new tagline, I would want to encourage everyone to likewise seek ways to love others by sharing our respective blessings.

Blessed 2016 everybody!
